Can I Say Stupid Church?

So here's the deal. I don't think the Church is stupid, I think some administrators of churches are stupid.

What my issue is, I don't like to be micro-managed, and I am currently in an internship where that is what my overseer is doing. Wanting me to list every little thing I do for ministry to make sure I am doing enough ministry hours, he is somewhat upset that I am dropping part of the Worship ministry duties that I was doing, so that I can start doing some teaching. He talked with me about my time management skill, and then said he wasn't sure I had enough time to be running my small group. To that I wanted to say "Actually if I don't have enough time, maybe I will drop all worship activities I am involved in and concentrate completely on the teaching." But I didn't because I like my apartment.

Anyway, I am somewhat frustrated, and have been very busy with all kinds of stuff...

May You Shelter in the...

"May you shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand, and may the last embrace of the mother welcome you home." - Robert Jordan

On September 16, 2007 around 2:45pm, James Oliver Rigney lost his battle with Amyloidosis. James Rigney, known as Robert Jordan, is the author of the Wheel of Time series as well as several other fantasy books. The Wheel of Time series had 11 books in the series and one prequel. The series is currently unfinished, with one book left to be written. From what I have heard, Robert Jordan recorded all of the plot lines and major goings on of the story and has a army of writers that will be finishing the final book.

I am a big fan of the Wheel of Time series and would recommend it to any fantasy reader. I would like to send my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of James. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Busy...Not Me

So one of my faithful readers...ok, my only faithful reader is unhappy at the fact that I don't update this blog enough. The fact is that stress and classes have been getting the better of me. Currently I am taking a break from reading, tonight I have to read an entire book on leadership, another large chapter on Diffusion of Innovation, the Pastoral Epistles, and another chapter on how to preach pretty. I'm halfway done with the book, but other than that I haven't got anything else started. My mind is fried, so I'm probably not really sounding witty, and I think my wit is failing me in regular conversation as well as written. What is this world coming too...

New Communion?!?

So I overheard someone talking about a new edict issued by the Pope today. Supposedly, the Catholic Church will now be recognizing a new, synthetic form of bread during communion. The new type of "bread" will come in a couple of different shapes, including your typical flat disc wafer, a cross, and an Ichthus. Taste tests were done, and there are a couple of different flavors that will be available to parishioners. There is white, wheat, and for the more liberal Catholics, jalapeƱo flavored. Of course, not all parishes will have all of the flavor options.
This move by the Catholic Church is a surprising one coming from Pope Benny, who is very staunch theologian. The New Communion will probably be in most parishes by the new year, oh and I almost forgot to tell you the name, it will no longer be called the Eucharist, but "I can't Believe it's not Jesus!"

Back at it...

So school has started. What does that mean for my readers here, well it means that I will likely have a bit more time to blog here. So basically, you get to hear stupid things that I find mildly amusing, and then my thoughts on them. So really, my question is why do you read it? What do you want me to talk about?

Please, respond...otherwise I will talk about a lot of really stupid things.

I'm serious.

Idiot...

What kind of moron speaks his mind in very rude ways, insulting all kinds of people, including, but not limited to public officials, the President, Governors, and the Military. No, I’m not talking about me, I’m talking about the window-licking National Guardsman from California. On his website howtokillpeople.com he wrote rants and raves about everyone from every religion and all walks of life. Now I am all for self-expression, else I wouldn’t have this blog. But in this guys case, he ripped apart all minorities, had pictures of himself holding guns up to black people in tribal attire, criticized Governor Schwarzenegger for being stupid and his wife for being ugly. Now, some people would find if funny, what isn’t funny is the fact that his rants are actually breaking military law.

Military law states that it is a crime for an enlisted man or women to use contemptuous words against a public official. Currently the site is pretty much shutdown except for a statement that appears to have been more written by a lawyer than the idiot himself. From my personal perspective, and my personal opinion, this shouldn’t be allowed on the internet. But that is only my opinion…

Back...basically

Ok, So with school starting back up next week, and a schedule that allows me to write a little more, I will be back in full swing in about a week. However, I was reading an article today about Michael Vick. Apparently the NAACP doesn't think that Vick should be banned from the NFL for his Dogfighting business. Now, I am not unreasonable, I mean personally, I think she should be banned, I despise cruelty to animals. I think that his "Company" did horrible things to the dogs, I believe that he probably did kill some of the dogs himself in horrible ways, and he deserves the jail time and the fines for it. I also think that he should be cut off from the means in which he created the business. Therefore I think he should ban from the NFL, and not get any more money from them or any sponsors.

However, the NAACP has said that Vick is getting too much bad press. They said that he would get this much bad press if he would have killed a human. They also, even though they don't condone dogfighting, don't understand the uproar about dogfighting. According to them, what is the difference between dogfighting, and hunting deer and other animals.

Well NAACP, I will tell you what the difference is about this case. First, Vick is getting a lot of bad press, if he would have killed a person, he still would have had a lot of press because he is a sports star. However, if you want to compare apples to apples, Vick would have gotten a lot more press if he would have had an illegal underground fighting ring, where humans fought to the death, and in test fights, if they didn't fair well enough, then they would have been killed. That my friends would have been world headlines.

Now, you want to put dogfighting and hunting in the same boat. I am a hunter, I go out, find where the Wild Animals are, track their habits, set myself up in a blind, and I hunt them. That is not the same as training domesticated animals to fight each other to the death. I mean I suppose I could capture two deer, put them in a small enclosed space, not feed them, beat them, and try to train them to fight each other, but I really don't think people would go for that, infact I bet there would be an uproar for that as well.

NAACP I don't think Vick is getting bad press because he is black, I think he is getting bad press because he did horrible things. Stop trying to justify what he did with weak arguments that make no sense. If you are truly looking out for the Advancement of Colored People, don't try to hold up a Vick as a martyr, as a man who has done wrong but could turn around. Hold him up as an example of what people aren't suppose to be, and if you decide to be stupid, like Vick and his friends, then you are going to pay the consequences.

Am I saying Vick is a lost cause, No. But don't rally behind him, find someone who is doing something worth while, trying to feed the poor, help the homeless, not someone who is brutally murdering dogs because they are too weak to fight to the death in some pit.

Just One of Those Funny Things

I know I haven't posted in a long time. I am actually looking at creating another blog that would be dealing with technical things, but still keeping this one for my love for making fun of stupid people. And in that vein, here are some creative ways of explaining solutions to problems...

Qantas' Pilot Gripe Sheet After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas'

Pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had an accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.

S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what they're for.

P: IFF inoperative.

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.

S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny.

S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.

S: Cat installed.

And the best one for last..................

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget

Stress

Stress...

Why you might ask? Well without going into detail, I am having some financial stress, legal stress, no job stress, and empathy stress. All of that combined, means that I am extremely greatful to have a Wonderful Girlfriend. She helps to keep me sane even when I am a bit agitated, short with her, and just generally not acting like myself. She stays, she comforts, she is wonderful. I hope that I am able to do the same for her while she is going through stress.

On the Hunt

So exams are done, and it is now summer for me. What do I have going on this summer? Well, I need to find a job, which I have at least a good prospect, then I have a total of six weddings to go to, two to work at, and I want to visit home some, as well as go camping a couple times...Who thinks I am going to do all of this?

One Down...

Today was my first day of exams. One exam, it is done, I'm confident I did well, and that is all for today. So now I will be the office all day long, with basically nothing to do except study for the 3 exams I have tomorrow. I start 10 tomorrow, with New Testament Epistles, then Lunch, the Basic Apologetics, then Greek. No breaks between except for if I get done early with the exam, straight through the day tomorrow...it is going to be hell. Notice it is only the little 'h' hell, because I'm not going to eternal damnation tomorrow, just a bad day. Anyway, I'm really using my blog today as a distraction from actually studying...so I could make this really long and rambling, but I won't.

On another note, I enjoy getting the comments from "-H" that person is a good time, but there are others that check this blog regularly, and I would appreciate comments from you as well...even if you don't check regularly, just to see who is out there reading, so please, leave a comment, I don't care if you tell me I suck or if you confess your undieing love for me, leave me a comment.

Anyway, back to the proverbial grind stone.

Well I guess nothing would be an inaccurate term, I will probably we working 40 hours a week at a gym, but no more classes, not more tests, no more homework, and nice weather. I'm hoping to go camping this summer, go to the beach, make some money, and hang out with my beautiful Girlfriend. However, I have to get past the rest of today, and next week...then I will be free.

Rules...

So there I was, on my Comfortable Crapper, when in walk a couple of other guys. Now this alone isn't a problem, although I do prefer to be alone when contemplating the problems of the Universe from my porcelain throne, the problem was they were talking. It didn't stop once they entered the bathroom, it continued. Now low talking is sometimes OK, but loud talk is strictly looked down upon. That isn't all of it though. Party A entered the stall next to me, while Party B stood outside the stall and continued the conversation. Party A recognized that I was in the stall next to him from my sandals and shorts that were around my ankles. Now I understand if you want to ignore rules when no one is around, but once you know that someone is around, adherence to the rules is required. So I had got done before Party A, and had to exit the stall, walk by Party B, who said hello, and continued the conversation. That my friends was Awkward. Which is why the rules are in place anyway. Just frustrating.

No More Papers

I am not done with papers. No papers do I have to write for this semester. It seems odd to me, I actually kind of enjoy doing the research, learning new things and even writing, but when you put a deadline on me, I really start to dislike it. Like this summer, I'm planning on writing a book, atleast getting a good chunk of it done. I have no deadline, no professors with weird requirements, just me, my thoughts, and my time. I'm wanting to get it published, but I won't even pursue that until I like it. Maybe I will never publish it, who knows. All I do know, is that I am happy that I don't have to write anymore papers for this semester...now all I have to worry about is two tests next week, and four finals the following week.

On another note, I only got one comment on the last post, and I know more than that have checked it, I know there is someone checking this site on a somewhat regular basis from the West Side of the state in a coastal town that is grand...you know who you are, but I don't, so I would appreciate those who are reading this site to post a comment, it would be nice, and you come here anyway, and I know you do, so why not just drop me a line.

However, here is something I am going to ask. I would like everyone who comes here to read my posts, to leave me a comment. It will take you about 10 more seconds than it did to read my post, and more than likely it will be more interesting. I know there are several people who check this on a regular basis. Through my infininte wisdom, I even know generally where you are checking from, however, I would like to know that you are checking it and reading it. So please, leave me a comment, leave them on a daily basis, this will encourage me to continue writing. Plus let me know what type of posts you like better, my "Journal" type entries, or my more article type of posts, like the one about the comfortable crapper. Anyway, leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you.

The Comfortable Crapper

Now I know this is true for me, and I have actually had conversations with other guys about this, so it is most likely universal for guys, but I don't know about girls.
Guys have a comfortable crapper. It's that toilet that we prefer to go to, some people I know will only use their own, they will save there crap to the point of giving them stomach cramps in order to only have to poo in their own toilet. For me, it isn't like that. I usually find one toilet in the place where I spend the day, mainly because I don't want to hold a crap in, I mean I think you could seriously hurt yourself doing that.
My requirements for the Comfortable Crapper are sort of specific, I like to have a low traffic area, because I don't like to be bothered and I don't like to hear other people when they are doing their business. Usually the stall I choose is the one furthest from the door, so that way if someone does happen to stop by, I am as far away as possible, but this isn't a hard fast rule. Within the stall it has to be spacious, I don't like to feel cramped when I am crapping. It has to be clean, I mean when I am dropping the kids off, I don't want to be staring at a fake phone number for a good time. A good supply of TP is always a plus, I also look to see if there is an automatic air freshener or a ventilation system, I try to park myself near those. So the preferred water closet isn't always the closest.
The other thing is, it upsets me when someone is occupying mine. That is why you might see a guy step into a bathroom, and step right back out...someone is in his Comfortable Crapper, and now he has to wait, but he doesn't want to be obvious, and you never want to enter right after someone else, because it is upsetting to enter into someone else's perfume with their knowledge. So you have to leave the bathroom, wait a bit and then re-enter and hope the coast is clear.

So there you go, you are now educated on the Comfortable Crapper, ironically this post came to me while I was not on my Comfortable Crapper, but the most convenient one.

Strokes

Get your mind out of the gutter, this post is about Golf. So I think we might be starting up a Club Golf team here at the school in the fall. I went to a preliminary meeting this afternoon. I was the only one at the meeting besides the "Coach." So we talked about his ideas for it and everything, and talked about different guys that would be interested. From what it sounds like, I won't be the worst person on the course with the team, but I will be close. But I have a feeling that if we are going out more often, then I will probably get better, so hopefully I will be able to get my average down into the 90s.
What upsets me about the whole thing is that since I was the only one that showed up, I guess now I am the kind of liaison between the Coach and the other guys that want to play. So hopefully things turn out. Well, time to do some homework.

Papers, Papers, Papers

Well, I was going to start writing the actual content of my first paper yesterday, however my attention was diverted to watch some Firefly, then Roman Holiday, and then more Firefly while my girlfriend and I made and ate dinner. So I didn't actually start writing my paper. So I have my 8-10 pages due this week, then two more 8-10 pagers due next week.
In light of this, I may be a bit random in postings, random in times, random days, maybe even twice in one day if I feel the urge. Basically we are coming up on the end of the semester, so things are going to get a bit crazy for the next couple of weeks, after that however, I will be working regular hours here at the school, and, if I can find one, possibly another job. So hopefully I can post regularly, and maybe even about interesting stuff.

Media, Necessary but Overstepping at Virgina Tech

What happened at Virgina Tech this week was truly a tragedy. As a college student, and a human being, I want to know what is going on over there. However, I think that the media, though necessary, is overstepping. There were over 30 deaths on the campus this week, meaning that there are at the very least 30 families that would be traveling to the area. Thats not including the rest of the campus who probably have family coming to be with them during these hard times, and Alumni coming to support the school, and other people actually directly related to the situation. But then you have the media. One report that I read said that community members have opened up their homes to visiting families because the media has booked all of the rooms in the hotels in the town. There are cameramen and crews all over the campus all the time. During a prayer meeting, there were camera crews filming and holding boom mics over the heads of students to listen in on the prayers.
Now I understand that this is all news, but please a little respect would be nice. Officials from the school have stated that they will have to let things on campus get back to normal soon. Students on campus have started getting very upset with the media and are handing out fliers and posting signs that tell the media to get out. Only once violence has come from the hostility, during one reporters filming in the local post office, and it was all verbal, but the students were yelling and heckling the crew to get out.
I am really hoping no actual violence breaks out. If anyone from Virgina Tech actually reads this, please don't resort to violence, there has already been enough of that. Peacefully get the media out, and don't give them more reason to stay.

Happy Birthday

Well, as some of your know, today is my birthday. I'm 26 years old...I'm getting old. Now I know most people don't view 26 as old, but I am in a situation where I feel old. You see, I went back to school this year, that means I entered in with the freshmen class. Now granted, credit-wise I was a sophomore beginning this year, and a Junior by second semester, but the people I have hung out with and become good friends with are all quite a bit younger than me.
It's weird when I am talking with them and they reference things in their childhood and I am remembering those things from High School. Or they will hear a song and be like, "That came out when I was in like 7th grade..." I am then thinking to myself, "That came out in my Freshman year of college." I know that 26 isn't old, but when you are surrounded by people who are several years younger than you are, you start feeling a bit older.

Oh well, I am going to enjoy my day anyways.

Busy Busy Busy

So this weekend has been busy, as will this week, and I think just about every week until school is done for the semester. Let's see, here is a run down of the homework that I have due. 10 page paper for Apologetics about the Da Vinci Code, 8-page paper on Leadership, 8-page paper on my New Testament Theology, 3 Lessons from the Old Testament Prophets, Lots of Greek, and I'm sure there is more that I just can't think of. So I have a little bit to do for the next several weeks.

On a happier note, I am now dating someone. She is a wonderful girl with a great personality, sense of humor, and I think she must have something wrong with her sight, because she likes me. I can't give you her name, because I haven't asked permission to put her name out on the web, but I can say that I am happy that we are together, and I am looking forward to our relationship.

Ok, so I live in Michigan. That means that I am used to the weather changing every 3 minutes or so, from being about 90 degrees out to 40 degrees in a matter of an hour in the middle of the day. However, it is Currently April 11th, and we just got 3 inches of snow and slush. My birthday is in 8 days, and we have snow again. Now I seem to remember that there has been atleast one year where I had snow on my birthday, my mom argues with me about it, but the point is, April in Michigan, there shouldn't be snow. I don't want snow on my birthday. Not that I am doing anything spectacular for my birthday, but I would like it nice out. Oh well, that's Michigan for ya.

Girls, Spring Break, Wet T-Shirt, Easter, sex

(Just a note on the title, Remember this is the week I am trying to up my hits...the post is normal)

So I haven't need to have a post like this in awhile...really since I started this blog back up I haven't had a post like this, I don't think at least. If I have, those who read my blog regularly will notify me I'm sure.
Anyway, so here is how the situation stands currently. There is a girl, who likes me, a nice girl, attractive, great voice, good Christian. Now inherently this seems like it is a good thing right...right? So when she tells me she likes me, my initial reaction was something like, "What? Excuse me, could you say that again?" Because, girls don't generally like me, at least not in that way. So we have been hanging out because I think it is a decent idea to get to know someone before you decide to if you are going to get into a relationship with them.
She is all about me, which is a huge plus, and like I said she is attractive, good Christian, great voice, and she likes me, did I say that already. Anyway, the issue is, that my mind won't really let me process all of this, so therefore, I haven't made a decision yet whether I want to start a dating relationship with her. I feel it is unfair to her to keep her waiting, but I want my mind clear about it before I get into a relationship, is that fair of me? I mean she has opened herself up to me and told me how she feels, and all I can say back to her is...I don't know, I don't know how I feel. Is it fair for me to keep hanging out with her to get to know her? Why is it I have such a hard time with the whole girl thing? Maybe it is just because I am getting old...who knows.

Choir Tour: On The Tour

So the first place that I get to stay actually does have internet.

Our first performance went pretty well. We did the entire program, all the anthems and then the musical. Over all I enjoyed it. There are certain people that I am already getting annoyed with, but that was going to happen anyway. I gave my Secret Prayer Partner a little note, I will be of course doing something else for my SPA today, I just haven't figured out what yet. The people we are staying with tonight are great people, we sat and talked with them for awhile, then they let us use their hot tub, which I needed badly because of my back...it was amazing.

But now I am going to go to bed and possibly get a whole seven hours of sleep tonight...That's right, I said seven...the most amount of sleep I could have possibly had in like the past month. I'm pretty excited...now I just hope I can fall asleep in a strange bed.

Not that it matters too terribly, since I think I have one or maybe two regular visitors.

Tired

Sunday night it started, I played a game until about 2 am, then went home and went to bed about 3 am. Monday night was at another game until 2 am, Tuesday I hung out with a friend until 2 am, Wednesday I was studied until 2 am, Thursday I studied until 2 am. Ever night I went to bed around 3 or 3:30 am, I woke up around 7. That isn't much sleep, and I know that tonight I'm not going to get to bed until after 2 am again, and I have to be up for a Men's Breakfast and work day at 8 am, then I leave for Choir Tour at 1 pm, which means for the next couple of days I won't get much sleep at all.

Well, here's looking forward to more sleep deprivation

Overheard in the Lunchroom

Here are a couple of quotes that I have heard in the lunchroom at school

"Wanna lick the cherries off me?"

"How many times are they going to pork the chicken?"

"Hey, have you seen his dad's nipples?"

Hopefully more to come

My Knees

So I played volleyball last night...yes, it's another post about volleyball, but more specifically about my knees. Last night I fell to my knees several times digging for a ball, or after a wild flailing that I call a spike. Every time, land squarely on my knee hard. So today I had to walk around with my knee brace on all day and explain to everyone that saw it what happened. I'm somewhat used to the pain by now, since I have had problems with them ever since I can remember. Eventually it will feel normal, which means the pain will be constant and dull, instead of the constant and sharp pain of now.

Anyway, I am off to go for walk...yeah, I am a glutton for punishment.

Stupid Alarm

I hate waking up late. The rest of the day is just off and it seems like I am playing catch up. This morning I woke up to my alarm on time, hit the snooze and fell back asleep. However, I didn’t wake up to my snooze alarm. Granted, I didn’t go to bed until about 3 AM and I was trying to get up around 6:30 AM. Usually I don’t have a problem with that little bit of sleep, but I haven’t been getting much sleep lately, so I guess my body finally said, “Screw You Jeremy!” So I didn’t get up until 10 min after I was suppose to leave. So I took a quick shower and got to class about 20 minutes late. I hate it.

Fortune Favors the Bold...

So the old adage of Fortune Favors the Bold is a load of crap...sort of. You see, basically I have a good friend who is constantly looking for a girl that I would be interested in. The issue is that I am chicken when it comes to girls. Anyway, so the latest girl, whom I actually told him that I liked, he let her know. Now he did ask my permission, but right after I gave it, I realized that I'm not in middle school anymore, and that probably isn't the best way to go about letting a girl know I like her. Anyway, he told her, so then I let a couple days go by, knowing that she knows, and she knows that I know she knows...it was confusing to me too...sort of. Anyway, so I decided finally to talk with her, but since I am chicken I did it over IM. So we talked about it, come to find out that she doesn't feel that way about me. So yet again, shot down.
That's OK though, like I have said before, I'm sure that God will bring the right person into my life at the right time. Sometimes I just wish God would work on my schedule instead of His...although I'm sure he knows best.

Update On Grandpa

So I called my mom yesterday, and talked with her for awhile. The update on my grandpa is that he went in for tests, mainly a bone scan to see if the cancer had travelled. The doctors set him an appointment to see him for this coming Tuesday. My mom and my Aunt believe that this is good news, because if they would have found anything, they probably wouldn't have waited to see him and gotten him in immediatly. I also found out that my grandpa has conceeded to having radiation treatments, but will not do Chemotherapy.
I have spoken with some people about Prostate Cancer and they have said that there is a new procedure out where they inject these very tiny pellets into the prostate. These are basically minscule radiation bombs that just hit the targeted area, and not the entire body. For most people, these work well. And they are able to live a normal life even while the little things are sending out their radiation. I'm hoping this is the action that my grandpa has to take because he is a pretty active guy. And for clarification, my grandpa is actually like 79, I thought he was younger than that, but apparently not. I still think of him as that young though.

Anyway, there is the update that you all were asking for...well two of you asked for.

Between Two Friends

So I have these two friends, who were dating up until a couple weeks ago. Now they are both my friends, so I hear both sides of the story. I have been praying for them both, and they each seem to have come to terms with the breakup. So they were just friends, and now they are not doing well again. I love both of my friends dearly, drama or no drama. The main point of this post was just to air it out a bit, I'm not upset at either party, just needed to talk it out. Ok, I'm done...wow, this is like 4 days in a row or something like that...amazing.

Back to Back?

That's right, I'm posting for a second day in a row. Today was long, and I had a Greek exam, that's right Greek. Although I actually enjoy the class and I enjoy the fact that I am learning the language, exams suck. This particular exam, I think I passed...but it will be just barely if I did. Anyway, I wanted to rant on that for a second, and I won't take anymore of your precious time, plus I have a headache and I don't really feel like writing anymore. So you have yourselves a great day.

Volleyball

So yeah, I played Volleyball for the first time in a long time tonight, it was a blast. My team lost our first set of games in 5, and then we won our second set in 3. Like I said it was a good time and I am looking forward to it every tuesday, atleast I hope it is every tuesday. The only problem is, my Devo are on Tuesday nights with the guys, so I am hoping to be able to schedule my volleyball around Devos from now on. Anyway, for those few that do read this, I am again going to try to update this more often...Who knows.

Out of the State

Well, I am on the Intro to Ministries Trip, and we are currently in the big boring place between Michigan and everything good, otherwise called Ohio. We are currently sitting in the Hampton Inn in Cincinnati. We visited one church this afternoon on our way here, and tomorrow we are visiting two in the area, and Saturday we are heading down to Kentucky to see another church. Then Sunday we are heading back home.

So, I might be on, I might not...who knows.

So Maybe Every Other Day?

So when I said I was going to do this daily, what I really meant is that I am going to try...but with how hectic school has been since I got back from Hong Kong, I might have to make this an every other day type of thing. I will try to be as regular as I can, I will get my daily dose of fiber and hopefully bring you something that isn't complete...crap.

On a side note for today, I just had a conversation with my boss. Apparently you can make frogs croak, just by grabbing them just in front of their hind legs. This however only works for male frogs, because if other male frogs do that to them it is when they are trying to mate. Meaning that, according to my boss "The frog is saying get off me faggot."

Family Stuff

So I'm not doing a great job at posting daily, I realize that. With Mid-terms coming up, and another school trip coming up, I will do what I can, but I can't garuntee anythings.
I got some bad news yesterday while I was at home, my grandpa has Invasive Prostate Cancer. I guess they are going to do some test this week to see if it has spread, and if so, how far along it is. He has already made the decision that if he is required to do Chemotherapy or Radiation treatments, he will refuse them. With his health I understand, but it is really effecting my mom quite a bit. Her sister, my aunt had breast cancer, and now my mom's dad has prostate cancer.
I would ask for prayer for wisdom on the doctors part, healing for my grandpa's part, and comfort for my mother and the rest of the family. My grandpa is a tough guy, 4 or 5 bypass surgeries, and he is still kicking.
I also would like prayer for Carl Renaldi's family. The memorial service was held yesterday in Lansing, and there is another memorial service to be held in Indiana Today. I just pray that people will mourn Carl's passing, and still celebrate his faith and his life.

The Silver Glove Burned by Dr. Kuest

So we were speaking about copyright law, and Dr. Kuest mentioned that Micheal Jackson owns The Beatles copyright and lives off of the royalties. So, he could live off the royalties if he wanted. "He could sell the Neverland ranch, but he would lose touch with the children..."

Thats right, he went there, and it was funny, very funny.

You Will Be Missed Carl Renaldi

Yesterday, Sunday, March 4th, 2007, Carl Renaldi and his wife Deb were in a car accident. Deb is in the hospital with a broken pelvis, and God saw it fit to take Carl Home. Carl will be missed by his wife, his three kids, the rest of their familes, and everyone at Great Lakes.
During times like this, I think it is human nature to ask God, Why? It isn't that we need to know the answer, but we would like to. I will end this post with lyrics from a song by Casting Crowns, I'll Praise You in this Storm.

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
And stepped in and saved the day
Once again, I say Amen, and it is still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
I'm with you
As your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I'll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
You are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find you

I lift my eyes into the hills
Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth

Now That's Service

So I am staying at the Radisson in K-Zoo for the Statewide teen convention, and the room the us guys had was fairly trashed when we left this morning. We figured we would get back up to the room before the housecleaning service got there, but when we got there, they had just left. The lady left a nice note, she organized our soda cans, she organized all of our overnight bags on the sinks with washcloths, she left extra towels, and she was getting us new robes, she started the dishwasher that we have in the room, and left us extra waters. Now it could be that we are in a suite and that is how they treat everyone, but it is really nice, and great service.

The Almost Death of Me on I-94

So I traveled to the Michigan Statewide Teen. I was told to leave early, so I left about an hour and a half later than they told me too...well that was a mistake. So my One hour fifteen minute trip lasted almost 2 and a half hours. Once I got onto I-94, I traveled approximately n average of 20 MPH. The road was pure ice, nothing but ice. It was rather scary, not that I was afraid I would lose control, but people are just stupid and slamming on their brakes for no reason, I hate stupid drivers. But I made it here safe, and I will be here until tomorrow.

Jet Lag

So, I would just like to say that I have never had jet lag before now, and it sucks. Basically for the last couple of days, when to everyone around me it feels like it is 2pm, and it seems like a good time to be in class, to me it feels like it is a 1am, a good time to be in bed. I think I am getting closer to getting my internal clock back to what it is suppose to be, but I still don't feel quite right.

Anyway, this is a boring post, but my brain still isn't functioning fully. Hopefully I will have something better for tomorrow.

I'm Back

Well, I'm back from Hong Kong, and it was a great trip. If you want to know more, let me know and I can give you the whole run down.
However, when I got back, I got some very interesting news. Apparently, I am the Nemesis of the local Best Buy Geeks Squad. You see, a friend of mine went to Best Buy and bought a computer from them and the Geek Squad checked it out for him for free. When they offered to install Office on it, he informed them that he went to GLCC and that we could do it for free. Then he asked my friend if "That Jeremy guy" worked there.
From what my friend and his fiance tell me, apparently this Geek Squad memeber has all of the students from GLCC calling him at 3am, telling him that I broke there computers and that I have no clue what I am doing. I find this odd, because I don't work on student computers, that is a different tech, I have been working on computers and networks for the past 6 years, and ran entire school by myself. I think I know atleast a little bit about what I do for a living. I find it funny that I am known by name by the Geek Squad and they apparently hate me. As in, there was quite a bit of tension in the guys voice as he bashed my skills. In truth, this is all hersay, but it is from a two friends of mine, neither of which are prone to telling lies.
I'm just tempted now to find this Geek Squad members phone number and call him and be like, "The Jeremy is greater than you, The Jeremy is greater than the Geek Squad, all of the Geek Squad should tremble at the mention of The Jeremy's name...Muahahahaha"

Hong Kong Here I Come

So in about 24 hours I will be boarding a plane and heading to Hong Kong for 10 days. While I am over there, I will be helping out at a Christian Drug Rehab Clinic, a Teen Day at a church while we are over there and also we will be doing lots of Train Station and Street Evangelism. I am looking forward to leaving; I’m not looking forward to 21 hours on a plane.
However, one thing that I think will be pretty cool, is that I will be time traveling to get home. You see, we will be leaving Hong Kong on February 26th at 1:00pm, then we will be arriving in Los Angeles on February 26th at 9:40am. That’s right, we will be arriving back in the states before we leave Hong Kong.
So because of the Mission Trip, I will not be able to post for the next couple of days, however I will post an update on how the trip went, when I get back, probably around the 27th.

My 2 Cents,
Peace

Valentine's Day

So once again it is that time of year for everyone in the world to celebrate with thier significant other, or stalk a potential significant other. Now here is my beef with this stupid "Holiday."
I asked someone what was so special about today, they said something to the effect of, "It's a chance for me to tell everyone how much I can for them." I asked why she couldn't do that everyday. She said she could, but it gave her a special reason to, which I asked why do you need a speical reason?
I mean honestly, if you care about someone, they should know you care about them all the time, not just once a year. This shouldn't be your day of the year to profess your love for someone. Be original, do it on like April 12th or something. I'm sorry, if I was a girl and my boyfriend proposed to me on Valentine's day, I was smack him and tell him to be original.
Now I know that it is St. Valentine's Day, but honestly, how many people know what St. Valentine did to get this day? Anyone? Come on, don't be shy. You see, Halmark has made this "holiday" what it is so they can sell more cards, so candy companies can get in another good rush before Easter.
Ok, so maybe I am jaded on this topic, but still. I find the whole day pointless as far as a holiday goes.

My 2 Cents,

The First Ramblings

What to Expect...
Well, here's the deal. I am going to try to post on this daily, will I succeed 100% of the time, probably not, but I will try.
I have even heard of ways to make money off of a blog, might try it, might not, haven't decided yet. If I do, I will apologize ahead of time for making you look at the different adds, if I don't, then I'm sorry that you don't have anything better to read than my posts.

Anyway, that is the deal. If you like what I post, leave me a comment, if you don't like what I post, leave me a comment, if you just stop by and read it, leave me a comment...basically I am a comment whore.

Peace
